Mental health issues are no different than other medical conditions, such as hypertension or diabetes. Yet many people don't seek help. They suffer in silence, not knowing or denying that something can be done.
Today an estimated 22.1% of adults in America - about one in five - suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in any given year. In addition, four of the ten leading causes of disability are mental disorders. So it is no surprise that more and more people are seeking professional help to deal with these problems.
Our Spectrum of Care
We provide a spectrum of services and treatment options in a variety of settings. Because we are hospital-based, we offer a full continuum of services. Our highly specialized team consists of board certified psychiatrists, clinical nurses, mental health associates, clinical nurse specialists, physical therapists, occupational therapists and clinical social workers.
Our staff recognizes the emotional toll that a chronic mental illness can have on the entire family. Throughout treatment, our therapists help family members understand how mental illness affects the family. Families learn and practice appropriate roles and boundaries, how to set realistic expectations for the patient's capabilities. Family therapy also helps families develop healthy ways of communicating and dealing with stress and developmental changes so future problems do not escalate into situations that the family is not equipped to handle.
