The patient must have nothing to eat or drink for at least 4 hours prior to the test.
Exam Procedure
The patient will be asked to eat a small amount of oatmeal containing a radioactive tracer. Images will be taken immediately following the consumption of the oatmeal, and continue for up to 2 hours. Please notify our department if the patient is following a gluten-free diet.
