Meckel's Scan

Patient Preparation

The patient must have nothing to eat or drink
for at least 4 hours prior to the test.
Patient should not have had any recent barium studies.

Exam Procedure
A radioactive tracer will be injected into a vein in the patient's arm. Images will be taken immediately following the injection. The procedure will take approximately 45 minutes.
