As a certified member of MD Anderson Cancer Network, a program of MD Anderson Cancer Center, Frederick Regional Health System (FRHS) brings a higher level of cancer care to you and your family close to home. To be certified by the network means FRHS met certain qualifications. FRHS is bringing even higher quality cancer care to the community.

What is MD Anderson Cancer Network®?
The network is a program of MD Anderson Cancer Center, one of the world’s most respected cancer centers. MD Anderson’s mission is to eliminate cancer through focused care, research, education, and prevention.
The program is delivered exclusively through MD Anderson. As a certified member, FRHS is part of a quality program for managing and treating cancer, using evidence-based guidelines, treatment plans, and best practices developed by MD Anderson. Collaborations between network members and MD Anderson experts help ensure high-quality, local cancer care.

The network program for certified members provides quality assurance and best practices for oncology, using evidence-based guidelines developed by MD Anderson. In addition, certified members also have access to guidelines for cancer prevention, early detection, and follow-up care. FRHS is the first and only hospital system in Maryland to qualify as a certified member, and only the 14th system in the U.S. to be affiliated.

As a certified member of the network, FRHS is utilizing MD Anderson’s renowned clinical standards and expertise to elevate the quality of care for patients in our community. You and your loved ones won’t have to travel far for top cancer care—this affiliation helps FRHS bring hope and a new standard of care to our community.

Does this mean that patients like me will be sent to Texas?
FRHS will provide care to you and your loved ones right here in Frederick County. When needed, FRHS cancer specialists can consult with colleagues at MD Anderson. The network also supports enhanced access to
MD Anderson in Houston for qualified patients whose care cannot be provided in the local community.
