Cesarean Births

In the event you need to have a Cesarean section to deliver your baby, you'll be taken to a special BirthPlace operating room. A Neonatologist or Neonatal Nurse practitioner may join the obstetrician to ensure the safety and well-being of your baby. Cesarean births are usually performed with epidural or spinal anesthesia, so the mother can still experience the joy of her baby's birth. In most instances, the father or birthing partner may be present during the Cesarean delivery. This practice allows for family bonding with the newborn immediately after the birth.
