Mark S. Soberman MD, MBA, FACS
Mark S. Soberman, MD, MBA, FACS is Medical Director, Cancer Center, Frederick Memorial Hospital. Most recently, he was Director of Thoracic Oncology, Washington Cancer Institute and Director, Section of Thoracic Surgery at the Washington Hospital Center, as well as Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Soberman is a Diplomate of the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He is a graduate of the Emory University School of Medicine and completed his residency in General Surgery at Emory. Following a residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery at George Washington University, he completed a fellowship in General Thoracic Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Soberman has completed executive courses in Health Policy at the John F. Kennedy School of Government and in 2009 earned an MBA at the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia.
He is a reviewer for the Annals of Thoracic Surgery and is a member of numerous medical societies including the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, General Thoracic Surgical Club and American College of Physician Executives. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and of the American College of Chest Physicians. He had lectured nationally and internationally on various clinical topics in thoracic surgery. More recently, he has written and lectured on value based health care and physician alignment.
