At Physician's Footwear we offer personal service and top quality products, along with the promise that we will work to achieve your comfort.  Dr. David J. Levine and his staff are uniquely qualified to manage this service, being certified as both a podiatrist and a pedorthist (a specialist trained to design, fit and modify shoes).

Inventory
You don’t have to sacrifice fashion to experience comfort. Our casual, dress, and athletic styles are engineered for support and alignment, and hand crafted from a variety of fine grade leathers that softly cradle your feet. Sizes range from extra narrow to extra wide in quality brands such as SAS, Haflinger and Brooks a recognized leader in athletic shoe technology. We have specialty styles, such as 100% boiled wool clogs with a built-in arch support and a wide toe area.

Arch Supports
Over-the-counter arch supports offer a less costly alternative to customization. By measuring the foot, an appropriately sized support can be fitted to a shoe of any type—from slim dress styles to work boots.

Compression Stockings
Compression and support stockings provide relief from edema (swelling), varicose veins, poor circulation, or tired and aching legs. JOBST Medical legwear combines comfort, health, and style in specially knit hosiery that massages muscles and improves circulation.

Foot Aids
There are numerous products in our store that afford relief for problem-prone feet, such as corn protectors and a variety of pads that cushion and shield sensitive areas. We also offer a variety of foot creams and lotions specially formulated for problems like dry cracking skin, foot odor, and perspiration.

Professional Shoe Fitting
Since every foot is a different shape, there is no “one size fits all.” Modifying and customizing shoes to control the environment of the foot is often the simple answer to a painful problem.

Our certified pedorthists, Matthew Meitzler and Carole Morris, are trained to find the best shoe and optimum fit for your foot. They can fit you for arch supports or fabricate custom orthoses that are made on site in our own orthotic laboratory. We guarantee our services 100% and stand behind our products, replacing guess work with a fit that is based on precise measurement and customization.

Our staff is certified to fill prescriptions from any physician, and to design orthoses that offer relief from an array of foot and ankle problems. An orthosis is made to exact measurement from a cast impression of the foot. Soft moldable to more firm materials are used, depending upon the shoe, the needs and level of activity of the person needing the orthosis. This type of modification achieves an unparalleled fit, eliminating gaps and pressure points and improving and supporting position that allows the foot to function normally and helps control the motion of the joints.

Three pairs of custom multidensity foot orthoses are also covered by Medicare for individuals with diabetes who qualify to participate in the program. Anyone can bring shoes to Physician’s Footwear for repair or modification.

Medicare Therapeutic Shoe Program
Physician’s Footwear participates in this Medicare program that allows individuals who are diagnosed with diabetes (and who meet certain criteria) to obtain one pair of shoes per year.

Orthopedic Shoe Modification
Physician’s Footwear offers the only orthopedic shoe repair service in the area by a staff member trained in specialized repair techniques. Our shoe technician, Chris Logan, works in the fully equipped on-site shoe laboratory, meaning modifications are quick and convenient. Something as simple as a lift in the shoe can provide an effective solution. Inlays and inserts add support or alleviate strain.

Hours
Appointments are not necessary at Physician’s Footwear. Anyone is welcome to visit during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m until 6 p.m.
