Seventeen Frederick employers were recognized at this year’s Wellness
at Work Awards event held on July 14, 2016. Wellness at Work is a new
awards program of the State of Maryland for employers committed to improving
employee health and well-being.
All applicants for the Wellness at Work Awards completed the CDC Worksite
Health Scorecard. The Scorecard helps employers assess whether they have
implemented evidence-based strategies in their workplace to help prevent
heart disease, stroke, and related conditions such as hypertension, diabetes,
and obesity.
There are four award levels: On the Path, Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Higher
award levels required employers to meet additional criteria, such as having
a worksite wellness team, completion of additional assessments, completion
of a minimum number of worksite health improvement goals, and demonstration
that plan outcomes are tracked and evaluated.
The Wellness at Work Awards recognition event for Frederick employers is
a partnership of the Frederick Regional Health System, the Frederick County
Chamber of Commerce Worksite Wellness Committee, and Healthiest Maryland
Businesses.
FMH was recognized with a GOLD level award for large employers (over 750
employees). Congratulations to all who helped us achieve this recognition!
