Forward Fold is a traditional pose that helps to stretch the hamstrings
(back of the legs), lower back, and releases tension from the upper back
and neck. The traditional way to practice this pose is to stand, grounding
both feet into the earth, and bending forward through your hips until
you feel a stretch in the back side of your body. However, we suggest
trying this pose on a chair first.
Begin by leaning forward through the hips and keeping the chest proud,
allow yourself to fold forward letting your head, neck, shoulders, and
arms to melt toward the ground. If you would like to intensify this stretch,
extend your feet out in front of you with your toes pointed up towards
the sky; this will add the hamstring stretch into this pose. Hold for
10-15 seconds each and remember to breathe.
