FMH's Center for Diabetes & Nutrition Services attends FCC Wellness Fair

On Thursday, November 10th, 2016 from 11AM-4PM, Frederick Community College held it's first annual Wellness Fair at the campus' Athletic Center. The Health fair was offered to all FCC employees. The message for the health fair was "Power, Promoting our Wellness Energy and Relaxation, a logo used by their Wellness Committee. FMH's Center for Diabetes & Nutrition Services was invited to provide nutrition, diabetes and weight management education. It also served as an opportunity to share information on the nutrition services provided by Frederick Memorial Hospital. Two representatives from our center, Tammy Norris, Behaviorist/Patient Navigator & Heather Boyd, RD, LDN, CDE reached out to FCC's staff. This opportunity will connect more FCC employees to preventative services through FMH's Center for Diabetes & Nutrition.

Tammy & Heather brought educational materials and interactive nutrition demonstrations to illustrate the amount of sugar in various foods and beverages. Approximately 20 employees took referrals for nutrition counseling and 50 people interacted at the educational tables.
