Earlier this week, we had an unexpected Hazmat situation at Frederick
Memorial Hospital. Our community partners were immediately on-site to
help us deal with this situation so the majority of our team could focus
on caring for our patients.
We want to thank all of our local law enforcement and public health entities,
including Frederick County Fire and Rescue, Frederick Police Department,
Frederick County Health Department, Frederick County Emergency Management,
and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, for their leadership and assistance.
We appreciate the work you do every day to protect and serve Frederick.
Thank you also to our staff members who continued to care for patients
in the Emergency Department, in the hospital, and those who helped triage
patients arriving at the ED by car. We are proud of our team members who
immediately mobilized to address the situation and work with our community
partners to keep everything running smoothly. We feel lucky to be part
of this wonderful community.
