About the Pharmacy Residency Program

Frederick Health has been serving the health care needs of the Frederick community and the surrounding regions since it opened its doors in 1902. Today, Frederick Health Hospital is a 257-bed hospital with a fully integrated electronic medical record and information services meeting HL7 standards. Additionally, Frederick Health offers state of the art imaging services, advanced Interventional Cardiology and Endovascular Surgery, and has been designated as a primary stroke center by the American Heart Association.

Under the leadership of Cherryl Peterson, PharmD, Director of Pharmacy Services, the residency program is led by Rhiannon Marselli, PharmD, BCCCP, Residency Program Director. The staff at Frederick Health is committed to delivering a top-quality Residency Program. We are committed to helping you become confident, competent practitioners equipped with the knowledge and skills to meet the challenges facing pharmacy practice now and, in the years, to come. As members of our healthcare team, residents will be accountable and responsible for achieving optimal drug therapy outcomes. Residents will be expected to exercise skill and proficiency in educating other healthcare professionals, patients, and the community on drug-related topics.

Frederick Health currently offers two PGY1 pharmacy practice residency positions per academic year. The Department of Pharmacy consists of a team of clinical pharmacy specialists and clinical pharmacists providing service in multiple area of practice. The Department currently provides clinical services to the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Internal Medicine, Transitions of Care, Pediatrics and Neonatal Intensive Care, and Oncology.
